The VESTRY,
VESTRY MINUTES,
& GOVERNING DOCUMENTS
At Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne, the vestry serves as a key body of leadership within a broader system of shared governance shaped by the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church, the Diocese of Northern Indiana, and Trinity’s own bylaws, which together guide its structure and responsibilities. The vestry is elected by the parish and acts as its legal representative, overseeing all temporal matters of the church—such as finances, property, and organizational administration—while working in partnership with the clergy to support the parish’s mission and ensure faithful stewardship.

Governing Documents
Trinity Episcopal Church is part of a wider structure of shared governance that connects our parish to the whole Episcopal Church. Our life together is guided first by the Constitution and Canons of The Episcopal Church, then by the Constitution and Canons of the Diocese of Northern Indiana, which apply churchwide standards in our local context. Trinity’s parish bylaws provide our local policies for vestry leadership, elections, and operations. Each level works together in this order of authority to ensure accountability, consistency, and faithful stewardship of our mission. To read more, please click the underlined links above.
