Q: What is the process for a rector search (and why is it taking so long)?

 

The overview of the steps for the rector search are listed in the timeline above.  

 

The vestry and search committee have hosted parish interviews as well as offered the Congregational Assessment Tool (CAT) to gain understanding of Trinity’s hopes and direction.  In partnership with the diocese, we hope to faithfully use these insights to call a priest whose abilities and gifts are well-matched to Trinity.  

 

Ultimately, the process is one of prayerful discernment to find the priest called to join and lead the Trinity community.  It is designed to allow for preparation, prayer, and conversations to allow both the community and a new rector to be ready to work together.  While it does take time, we want to take the care necessary at the outset to be prepared for our new rector and create a solid foundation for flourishing once that person is called.  

 

Who is on the Rector Search Committee?

 

The committee chair is Doug Johnston.  The search committee members are Denise Stacy, April Morrison, Scott Short, Ryan Chasey, Nathanael Falater, Vickie Faux, Ed Martin, and Renee Crim.
