
The Rev. Betty R. FrolickAssistant PriestBorn in Virginia, Betty grew up in southeastern Ohio, where she was raised as a Presbyterian. She graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she married Peter M. Frolick, and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she taught school for several years. Pete and Betty were confirmed in the Episcopal Church while living in Colorado Springs. In 1970, Pete, Betty, and son Paul, moved to Midland, Michigan. Betty was active in the Episcopal Church serving on the Altar Guild, singing in the choir, as President of E.C.W., on the Christian Education Committee, Diocesan Convention Delegate, Lay Eucharistic Minister and on the Investment and Use Committee. She was trained as a Stephen Minister and was active in the Cursillo Movement. In the Diocese of Michigan, Betty was a member of the Town and Country Committee and the Commission on Ministry. Daughters Elizabeth and Stephanie were both born in Midland, Michigan. In 1987, Betty responded to the call to ordination and was educated at the Whitaker School of Theology. Upon ordination as a Deacon in 1990, she served as a member of the clergy team of the Episcopal Tri-Parish Cluster that ministered to three small churches in Mid-Michigan. Due to a job change for Pete, the family moved to Fort Wayne in 1993. In preparation for ordination to the priesthood, Betty attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. After graduation, Betty was ordained at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Hillsdale, Michigan, where she served as the Rector for seven years. Pete is now retired. Pete and Betty have three grown children: Paul is the Organist and Choirmaster at Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, New York, near Rochester. Elizabeth is a Financial Analyst for GMAC at the Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. Stephanie is married to Michael Trabel and works as a Computer Systems Analyst at Park Center, Inc. in Fort Wayne.Return To Contact List |
